Total Bill With Tip
This tool only calculates arithmetic. It does not determine whether a tip is expected, whether a service charge reaches staff, or what percentage is appropriate in a specific country or situation.

A Tip Percentage Calculator works out the gratuity on a bill, adds that amount to the original charge, and shows the equal payment per person when a group is sharing the cost.
It is helpful for restaurant checks, coffee-shop receipts, delivery orders, taxi fares, hotel services, salon appointments, and group meals. On the online calculator, you can enter the bill, choose a tip rate and currency, and provide the number of people sharing the total.
For an $80 bill with a 20% tip, the gratuity is $16 and the final total is $96. When four people divide that amount equally, each person pays $24.
Open the online tool to find the tip amount, total payment, and per-person share immediately.
Calculate Tip NowThe arithmetic is straightforward, but it is easy to lose track when a group is splitting the check, a currency is changing, or the preferred gratuity could be 10%, 15%, 18%, or 20%. A calculator removes that uncertainty by displaying the exact tip and final charge.
Use it for dining, delivery, transportation, personal services, or shared bills. When tax is part of the receipt, review it separately with the Sales Tax Calculator, VAT Calculator, or GST Calculator.

Use Tip CalculatorA Tip Percentage Calculator is a simple percentage tool that determines gratuity from a bill and a chosen rate. It multiplies the bill by the percentage, adds the result to the bill, and can divide the completed total among several people.
A tip is an additional payment for service. It is commonly associated with restaurants, hotels, delivery providers, ride services, salons, and other service businesses.
| Bill | Tip Percentage | Tip Amount | Total Bill |
|---|---|---|---|
| $50 | 10% | $5.00 | $55.00 |
| $60 | 15% | $9.00 | $69.00 |
| $75 | 18% | $13.50 | $88.50 |
| $100 | 20% | $20.00 | $120.00 |
The standard calculation multiplies the bill by the tip rate after dividing that percentage by 100.
Tip formulaA 20% tip on an $80 bill is 80 × 20 ÷ 100 = 16. After adding the $16 tip, the total is $96.
Begin with the amount before gratuity. In this example, the bill is $72.
Select 10%, 15%, 18%, 20%, or any other rate you consider suitable.
Divide the rate by 100. An 18% tip becomes 18 ÷ 100 = 0.18.
Calculate 72 × 0.18 = 12.96, so the gratuity is $12.96.
Add 72 + 12.96 = 84.96. The amount due is $84.96.
A $60 restaurant bill with a 15% tip gives 60 × 15 ÷ 100 = 9. The tip is $9, and the final bill is $69.
For an $85 dinner check, 85 × 20 ÷ 100 = 17. The tip is $17, making the total $102.
A group bill of $144 produces a tip of 144 × 18 ÷ 100 = 25.92. The complete total is 144 + 25.92 = 169.92, and each of four people pays 169.92 ÷ 4 = $42.48.
For a $28.50 cafe receipt, 28.50 × 10 ÷ 100 = 2.85. The gratuity is $2.85, and the final payment is $31.35.
When a $90 bill receives a $13.50 tip, divide the tip by the bill and multiply by 100: 13.50 ÷ 90 × 100 = 15%.
Provide the charge before tip. Depending on your preference, this may be the subtotal before tax or the taxed final bill.
Use 10, 15, 18, 20, 25, or any custom gratuity percentage.
Use one person for an individual bill, or enter a whole number to divide the total equally.
Choose Dollar, PKR, Rupee, Euro, Pound, AED, or display the result without a currency symbol.
Before adding another full tip, check whether the receipt already contains an automatic gratuity or service charge.
Some customers base gratuity on the subtotal before tax, while others use the taxed total. Both approaches are common, although the final tip differs slightly.
The base is the subtotal before sales tax, VAT, or GST, so gratuity applies only to the food or service value.
The base is the complete taxed bill. Because tax is included, this method normally creates a slightly larger tip.
To inspect the tax separately, use the Sales Tax Calculator, VAT Calculator, or GST Calculator.
| Item | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Tip | An amount the customer may voluntarily add for service. |
| Service charge | A fee the business may add automatically, often as a fixed percentage. |
| Gratuity | Usually another term for a tip, although it may also describe an automatic service charge. |
When a service charge is already included, a customer may still choose to add more. The calculator only performs the arithmetic and does not determine whether an extra payment is expected.

Use the subtotal for a before-tax tip and the taxed total for an after-tax calculation.
Add gratuity first, and then divide the full amount by the number of people.
Individual rounded payments may leave the collected group total slightly above or below the exact amount.
It calculates gratuity from a bill and chosen percentage. It can also add the tip to the bill and determine each person’s equal share.
Multiply the bill by the tip percentage divided by 100.
The tip is $9, so the total payment is $69.
The gratuity is $10, which makes the final bill $60.
Either method may be used. A before-tax calculation starts with the subtotal, while an after-tax calculation starts with the final taxed amount.
Often it is. In some receipts, however, gratuity can mean an automatic service charge rather than a voluntary tip.
Add the tip to the bill, then divide the completed total by the number of people.
